It's no surprise that there was a wave of blue washing the country, and as such, our campaign, as were many Republican campaigns, found themselves up against some heavy well funded propaganda and voter drives that we all saw resulted in a rise of pro-democrat sentiment. The vote is still very close, within 200 votes. That's less than 1/2 of a percent. The small margin has triggered a mandatory recount which is going on now. However, on Weds the 20th, The Denver Post reported that Lauri Clapp, in the best interests of the people conceded to Linda Newell. Please read the article linked here for further informtion. http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_11027592 Lauri and her campaign staff sincerely wish Linda Newell congratulations and wish her the very best. We thank all of the supporters, campaign volunteers and those of you who gave of your time to help keep our seat Republican. Considering the overwhelming and well funded democrat campaign efforts and voter drives in all of the contests, we believe that the election being as close as it was, speaks to both the hard efforts and the Republican support and conservative values still alive in District 26. Thank you all once again!
Lauri with her daughters Nataly and Candace.
